About THE FOREST
What is THE FOREST?
THE FOREST is a natural wellness brand founded in Taiwan in 2019. Built around plants, scent, and natural materials, we bring the stillness of Taiwan's forests into modern everyday life — helping busy minds slow down and return to nature.
What products does THE FOREST make?
Our range includes space fragrance oils, natural essential oils, scented wax melts and warmers, preserved flower diffusers, sola flower diffuser gift sets, natural relaxing stones, and the Forest Sleep Pillow — Taiwan's first replaceable botanical scent pillow. Together, they form a complete set of home wellness choices, from ambient fragrance to bedside botanicals.
What does THE FOREST do for sustainability?
We reduce waste at every step: Taiwan red cypress sourced exclusively from reclaimed timber, botanicals shade-dried naturally, sachets and fragrance products designed to be replaceable rather than disposable. No harmful additives. We believe in treating the land with care and respect.
Fragrance Oil & Essential Oil
What is the difference between fragrance oil and essential oil?
Space fragrance oils are blended aromatic compositions — richer, longer-lasting, and more layered, designed to shape the atmosphere of a room. Essential oils are extracted directly from plants, with a pure, close-to-nature character. Simply put: fragrance oils are about the mood of a space; essential oils are about the essence of a plant.
How do I use the space fragrance oil?
Space fragrance oil is designed for use with a diffuser, or dropped onto a diffuser stone or flameless carrier, allowing the scent to gradually fill the room. Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or any space where you want to shift the atmosphere.
Are THE FOREST essential oils pure and natural?
Yes. Our essential oils are extracted from plants and carry the plant's own true scent — unblended and unmodified. This is what sets them apart from fragrance oils: an essential oil is the plant itself.
Which should I choose — fragrance oil or essential oil?
If you want a rich, layered, long-lasting room scent, choose a space fragrance oil. If you prefer something simple and close to the plant, choose an essential oil. Both serve different moments; neither is better than the other.
Wax Melts & Warmer
How do I use the scented wax melts?
Place one wax melt cube into the dish of your warmer, then light the tea light underneath or switch on the electric heat. As the wax gently melts, it releases fragrance into the room. The wax itself requires no flame — making it a safer, more flexible alternative to candles.
Wax melt warmer or scented candle — which is better?
The main difference: wax melts require no open flame, the scent can be changed whenever you like, and each cube can be reheated until the fragrance naturally fades. Candles burn down as they're used. If you enjoy switching between scents or prefer to avoid open flame, a wax melt warmer gives you more flexibility.
How long does one wax melt cube last?
Each cube can be reheated multiple times until the fragrance naturally fades. How long this takes depends on how often you use it and the conditions of your space. When the scent is gone, simply replace with a new cube.
Preserved Flowers & Sola Diffusers
Are the flowers in the preserved flower diffuser real?
Yes. Our preserved flower diffusers are made with real preserved and dried botanicals, maintaining the natural form and colour of each flower. Paired with fragrance, they bring both visual beauty and ambient scent into your space.
How do I refresh the scent in a preserved flower diffuser?
When the fragrance fades naturally, simply add a few drops of THE FOREST fragrance oil or essential oil into the vessel to revive the scent. Keep the diffuser in a ventilated spot away from direct sunlight to help maintain both colour and fragrance over time.
What is a sola flower?
Sola flowers are handcrafted from natural plant fibres such as tapioca root. Lightweight and porous, they absorb fragrance beautifully while holding a delicate, flower-like form. Because they don't wilt and can be refreshed repeatedly, they're a lasting and sustainable choice for diffusers and gift sets.
How do I refresh a sola flower diffuser?
When the scent fades, drop a small amount of THE FOREST fragrance oil or essential oil directly onto the petals and allow the flower to absorb it. It will release the scent again within minutes. No replacement needed — this is what makes sola flowers so well-suited to long-term use.
Natural Relaxing Stone
What is the Natural Relaxing Stone?
The Natural Relaxing Stone is a therapeutic mineral tool made from genuine gemstones, available in eight varieties: clear quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, green aventurine, flower jade, lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, and black tourmaline. Each has its own texture and character — suited for the desk, windowsill, or to carry with you as a quiet daily companion.
How can I use the Natural Relaxing Stone?
The stone can be used as a facial massage and gua sha tool, gliding gently along the contours of the face to ease tension. Its smooth, grounded surface is also suited to acupressure. Beyond the hands, it can simply be placed in a space as a calming presence.
Can I use the Natural Relaxing Stone with essential oil?
Yes. The mineral surface absorbs scent naturally. Add a few drops of THE FOREST essential oil to the stone and it becomes a natural diffuser stone, releasing botanical fragrance slowly into the surrounding space — the calm of the mineral and the scent of the plant, together.
What should I know before using the stone for facial massage?
Use on clean skin, with your regular serum or facial oil to allow the stone to glide smoothly. Apply gentle, comfortable pressure and follow the natural direction of the skin. Avoid broken skin or areas of sensitivity. After use, wipe the stone clean with a dry cloth or a little water and keep it dry.
How do I care for the Natural Relaxing Stone?
Store in a dry place away from prolonged sunlight or water immersion. If used as a diffuser stone, simply re-apply essential oil when the scent fades. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth as needed.
Forest Sleep Pillow 森眠枕
What is the Forest Sleep Pillow?
The Forest Sleep Pillow is THE FOREST's first-ever replaceable botanical scent pillow. Inside each pillow sits a removable sachet filled with naturally dried botanicals. The plant's own fragrance passes quietly through the pillow fabric, accompanying you through the time before sleep.
How is it different from other scented pillows?
The key distinction is the replaceable sachet system. Most scented pillows have a fixed fragrance that fades and cannot be restored. The Forest Sleep Pillow's inner sachet can be replaced when the scent naturally fades, and swapped for a different botanical scent as your mood changes. It also contains no essential oils or synthetic fragrance — only 100% naturally dried plants.
Does the Forest Sleep Pillow contain essential oils?
No. The fragrance comes entirely from the dried botanicals themselves — no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no chemical additives. Only the natural scent that plants leave behind when carefully dried.
How often should the sachet be replaced?
Approximately every 3–4 months. In a dry environment, the fragrance may last longer. When the scent naturally begins to fade, simply replace the sachet with a fresh one.
What scents are available?
Four botanical sachets are available at launch: Stillness (lavender), Refresh & Invigorate (mint), Deep Forest (Taiwan red cypress / hinoki), and Relief (lemongrass). Each corresponds to a different mood and kind of night.
What materials is the pillow made from?
The pillow cover is a cotton-linen blend (70% cotton / 30% linen) — breathable, skin-friendly, and suitable for all seasons. The fill is cotton, giving soft and stable support. The inner sachet is plain-woven cotton filled with naturally dried botanicals.
Can the Forest Sleep Pillow be washed?
Please remove the inner sachet before washing. The outer pillow cover is removable and washable — cold water, gentle cycle, no bleach, no high-heat drying. The pillow inner and sachet should not be washed, as water will affect the fragrance and the botanical fill. Air the pillow regularly in a cool, ventilated space.
Where can I buy the Forest Sleep Pillow?
The Forest Sleep Pillow will launch on Zeczec (嘖嘖), Taiwan's leading crowdfunding platform, in October 2026. Follow THE FOREST on Instagram and LINE to be the first to know when pre-orders open.
